In the first part of my career I managed a 10-person litigation support department of a 100+ attorney law firm. I quickly realized that I wanted to know more than how to put a case together - I wanted to learn the law and the reasons behind the decision making. I enrolled in law school while working full time. During that time I was part of trial teams that obtained millions of dollars of awards for personal injury plaintiffs and business clients. With a passion for scuba diving, I moved from California to Maui and reentered the legal market here doing personal injury work. I was then given an opportunity to take those litigation skills and move to local business firm where I developed my skills in business formation, landlord/tenant and leasing, real property sales, business sales, and of course, I continued to do litigation. In 2011, I along with two partners started a new law firm that continued to do transactional and litigation work but which also expanded into the community association field. After 12 years together, we decided to pursue our respective passions and I continue to serve the business and association community. As a small firm, I am dedicated to understanding what results you want and to helping you understand what actions can be taken on your behalf.
In plaintiff's litigation, success is usually measured in dollars and I have helped clients achieve through trial, mediation, and arbitration millions of dollars in results. From catastrophic personal injury cases resolving in excess of $10,000,000 to construction defect cases being tried to judgment at over $37 million, I've seen what monetary success can do for a client. But there are cases where success is measured in keeping your residence, removing a non-paying tenant, creating a strong contract, protecting an investment, building a strong business, or obtaining or defending a permit or license. In my law practice, you define what success is and I am proud to help you achieve it.
Is a resident of Hawaii, giving back to the community has long been my focus. For over 23 years I have been a member of the outrigger paddling community serving at the local club, island association and state levels, currently serving as an official and as President of the Hawaiian Canoe Racing Association. In addition, I am an active angel runner for Ainsley's Angels of Hawaii, a group who acts as the legs for those with disabilities so they can participate in running races. I also a volunteer at the Maui Humane Society, working directly in animal care. I am supported in my efforts by my awesome business manager husband and rescue pups.
